Mentoring this course is Darrel Erickson an Associate Faculty member for the University of Phoenix, Hawaii Campus in the College of Information Systems and Technology. Darrel continues to teach both classroom and online Management courses for Wayland Baptist University. He is also an active member of Project Management International (PMI) Honolulu Chapter and volunteer in their Professional Development Committee and PMP Exam Prep course.

Trained in formal Project Management in Undergrad and Graduate studies in Project Management, with military program and project experience, Darrel obtained certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2005. He holds a Master of Science Degree (Technology Management) and a Bachelor of Science (Management Studies) from the University of Maryland (UMUC).

The Course Work

Our Real Estate Pre-Licensing program provides 75 hours of required training to ensure that you have the knowledge you need to begin your career.

Our 30-hour real estate fundamentals course introduces students to the language, principles and legal concepts that govern real estate ownership and transfer in Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, the 45-hour real estate practices course provides an introduction to the real estate business. It focuses on areas of specialization including techniques, procedures and ethics involved in real estate transactions. The course is designed to provide a working knowledge of needed forms and documents.

Concepts you can expect to learn about in our real estate pre-licensing courses include listing and selling, closing deals, valuing properties, using escrow accounts and understanding property taxes, mortgages, liens and other financial ideas. You’ll also learn how to advise buyers on the best decisions to make and how the clauses of their contracts apply to them.

The Course Work

The program is a comprehensive course that teaches using online learning activities, practice exams and task-based assignments.

To apply to this program, students must have either a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate degree or global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience.

Those five years must include 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and a minimum of 35 hours of project management education.
